Website care

A website does not end on launch day. The core and its extensions release fixes, certificates expire, forms stop arriving after a change at the hosting provider, and a backup never restored is only a theory. Take a law firm that discovers eighteen months on that its contact form has sent nothing since a change to its mail service, and that no enquiry arrived in all that time. A care agreement exists precisely so that kind of silence does not last.

Where this service reaches

The agreement covers what keeps the site alive, plus an allowance of hours for everyday requests, so your staff never have to negotiate a quote to change a figure on a page.

Updates under control

Core, extensions and modules applied first to a copy, checked on the pages that matter, then moved into production. An update that breaks the basket on a Thursday evening costs more than caution.

Proven backups

Daily copies of files and database, kept away from the main hosting and with a European provider. We restore one regularly, because a backup never tested does not count.

Monitoring

Short-interval availability checks, certificate and domain expiry, response time, disk space, server errors. You hear about it before your customers do.

Everyday security

Tracking published vulnerabilities affecting your components, hardening access, throttling sign-in attempts, reviewing administrator accounts and removing the ones no longer needed.

Small changes

A monthly allowance of hours for text edits, an extra page, a display fix or a new banner. Hours used are itemised, with no double billing.

A readable report

A short monthly account: what was updated, what went wrong, the uptime recorded, the hours used and what we recommend for the month ahead.

Response times

Four hours on the Start plan, one hour on Business, fifteen minutes on Premium, Mon-Fri 8:00-18:00 CET. Out-of-hours arrangements are set out in the contract.

The way an engagement runs

We always begin with a stocktake: taking over a site without knowing what is inside it means committing to unknown contents.

01

Takeover

An inventory of components, credentials, hosting and any existing backups, with the urgent items noted.

02

Catching up

Overdue updates applied, backups and monitoring put in place, unused accounts cleared out.

03

Monthly rhythm

Updates, checks, everyday requests and the report, on the calendar agreed in the contract.

04

Annual review

A look at performance, hosting and licence spending, and proposals for the year ahead.

A backup that has never been tested is not a backup. We regularly meet truncated archives, databases exported without their largest tables, or copies stored on the very server that has just been compromised. The only valid proof is a genuine restore onto a separate environment, carried out at regular intervals and recorded in the monthly report.

Questions and answers

Site availability, updates, backups, monitoring and an allowance of hours for small requests. A visual redesign, a new feature or a link to business software fall outside the plan and are quoted separately, at EUR 95/hour excl. VAT.

Yes, after a stocktake of the code, the installed versions, the backups and whose name the domain and hosting stand in. Sometimes rescuing a very old site costs more than building afresh: you will know before signing, not halfway through.

It depends on the plan. Start and Business are covered during working hours; Premium includes out-of-hours cover on terms set out in the contract. For a business taking money at the weekend, that point deserves settling before an incident rather than during one.

Generally yes, provided we have the credentials we need and the plan allows a test environment. If the hosting is too limited to apply updates calmly, we say so with figures attached, and the decision is yours.

The agreement runs monthly and ends on the agreed notice. At the end you take back credentials, backups and documentation. We would rather be kept because the service suits than because a clause traps you.
