Simple website and catalogue

A builders merchant, a joinery workshop or a consultancy has no use for a shop. What it needs is somewhere that explains in half a minute what it does, shows what it offers and makes the first contact painless. No basket, no checkout: the visitor sends a request, you come back with a price. Success in this format rests on one figure, the number of serious enquiries arriving each month, and that figure is what we build around.

Where this service reaches

A short site is not obliged to say everything. It has to show you are serious and avoid losing the person who has already decided to get in touch.

Put your scope to an engineer

The pages you cannot skip

Home, what you offer, about the firm, past work, contact. Most small outfits need nothing beyond that, and every extra page is one more thing to keep current.

A catalogue without checkout

Categories, product pages with specifications and PDF documentation, filters, and an Ask for a price button that attaches the relevant reference to the message. You know at once which item is being discussed.

Forms that genuinely arrive

Spam protection without unreadable puzzles, the GDPR notice under the send button, an acknowledgement to the visitor, and a copy into the right mailbox or straight into your CRM.

Copy and photographs

Where content does not yet exist, we write it from an hour-long conversation. Images are recompressed to WebP so a page still opens on a patchy signal, on a building site or on a train.

Compulsory notices

Legal notices, privacy policy, and a consent banner if the site drops trackers that are not strictly necessary. We install the mechanism; the legal wording is signed off by your adviser.

Local visibility

Page titles and descriptions, a sitemap, registration in Search Console and a well-kept business listing, so customers nearby find you on a map and not only by typing your name.

The way an engagement runs

On an adapted theme the site appears sooner than with full bespoke design. The usual brake is copy and photographs, so we put those in hand during the first week.

01

Gathering

We pull together what belongs online: a description of what you offer, photographs, technical sheets, certificates and product data.

02

Look and feel

Either a theme chosen for you, or a sketched layout tuned to your logo and your colours.

03

Assembly

Pages, catalogue, forms and audience measurement put together on a test address you can walk through.

04

Opening

Domain, certificate, live trials of the forms and a walkthrough of the editor over video.

After the home page, the most visited page is almost always contact. It is also where a mailbox closed two years ago and a form dropping messages into a folder nobody opens tend to linger. Before pouring money into a striking home page, make sure the person ready to write to you can get through. At handover we send test messages from several browsers and several mailboxes, and confirm that a human received each one.

Questions and answers

By the volume of data and how often it shifts. Five fixed pages are built once. A catalogue has to be tended: lines come and go, specifications move, datasheets are replaced. We build it so that an update takes a few minutes, or so that an entire spreadsheet can be imported in one pass.

For this format, usually yes, and the saving is real. Bespoke design earns its place when your visual identity is strong and must be reproduced exactly, or when several nearby competitors are visibly running the same template you would be using.

Only where the site drops trackers that are not strictly necessary, for instance advertising measurement. Some analytics tools are exempt under CNIL guidance and let you avoid the banner altogether. We discuss that before installing any measurement at all.

Yes. On WordPress the catalogue becomes a WooCommerce shop without changing the look or the product addresses. That is precisely why we lay out the structure now as though selling might arrive, which saves starting over.
