Retail and e-commerce

Nobody writes in to tell you a product page took eight seconds to appear, or that instalment payment quietly vanished from the checkout last Thursday. The shopper shuts the tab, buys somewhere else, and all you ever see is a line on a graph bending the wrong way. Here an incident is counted in abandoned baskets, not in minutes of downtime. We put the shop, the marketplaces, the payment pages, the despatch desk and the accounts on one set of figures, then hold the whole thing upright until the sales are over.

What we put in place

Six pieces that together settle whether an order reaches the packing bench without a person touching it. Inside a bricks-and-mortar shop, the till and the card terminal belong to the operator that supplied them. Software, data exchange and the daily running are ours, entirely from a distance.

Scope it with us

The shop itself

WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Shopify or Magento. Extensions and theme stay current, the pages that earn money have their response time watched, backups are proven by restoring them, and we go looking for the checkout screen that quietly loses a third of your visitors. Accessibility belongs in the same bundle: keyboard operation, contrast, labelled fields, at the level the European Accessibility Act expects.

Marketplaces

Amazon.fr, Cdiscount, Fnac-Darty, ManoMano, Rakuten or Back Market, reached through a feed manager such as Lengow, Shoppingfeed or Iziflux, or straight through the interface. Listings all descend from one product sheet, orders return to one queue, and an item that sells disappears from availability everywhere at once.

Payments

Bank cards, wallets, SEPA transfer and direct debit by way of Stripe, PayPlug, Lyra, Mollie or Adyen, with Alma added for instalments when your average basket makes them worthwhile. Setting up the gateway is only half of it: strong authentication, refunds and the notifications that mark an order paid all get tested, so nothing sits in limbo over a weekend.

Despatch and returns

A pickup map from Mondial Relay and Relais Colis inside the checkout, labels for Colissimo, Chronopost, Colis Privé or DPD drawn from the order record, tracking sent on to the buyer, and a returns form that spares both sides a chain of emails.

Invoices and the accounts

Invoices for business customers issued as Factur-X and filed through an accredited platform, till receipts arriving in the same ledger, and what sells on a marketplace reaching Sage, EBP, Pennylane or Odoo without anybody pulling an export by hand. Your accountancy firm gets a complete month rather than a folder of spreadsheets.

Shopper data

Marketing consent recorded so it can be produced later, a cookie banner built to CNIL guidance, a processing agreement with every tool that sees a customer name, and administrator logins kept behind a second factor. When a buyer exercises the right to erasure, answering takes minutes rather than a week of searching.

When selling stops

Four thoroughly ordinary situations in an online shop. Preventing any of them is cheaper than the takings you lose on the day it happens.

Peak day The shop buckles mid-campaign Headed off by rehearsing the traffic and sizing capacity months earlier
Oversell One item, sold twice over Headed off by a single stock figure rather than spreadsheets passed around
Minutes Payment refuses to complete Headed off by monitoring the whole purchase path, the gateway included
Trust Customer details escape Headed off by patching, an application firewall and far fewer super-users

November is won or lost in September. The traffic rehearsal, the freeze on large changes and the list of people who can be reached all have to be settled while the campaigns are still being planned. The same logic covers the winter and summer sales, which land on fixed dates and still surprise retailers every single year. We lay that calendar out with you weeks ahead, so nothing about the peak is improvised.

Questions and answers

Tools of that family move orders around very well, provided somebody sets them up and keeps watching. We define the automations, map categories and statuses, settle the invoicing rules, then verify that a marketplace connection has not lost its access token during the night. Where a requirement sits outside the ready-made modules, the connection gets written by hand.

Selling to consumers makes it very likely, although exemptions exist and a lawyer should confirm your case. In practice the target is WCAG 2.1 AA: operation without a mouse, readable contrast, text alternatives for pictures, and a checkout somebody can finish using a screen reader. We audit the journeys that earn money first, then repair the theme rather than rebuilding everything.

For plenty of brands it pays, on one firm condition: stock and orders have to synchronise on their own. Otherwise you sell what has already gone, and each cancellation counts against your standing on the platform. The usual route is one channel with part of the range, extended only after a few weeks pass without surprises.

The till vendor and the card acquirer, since the acceptance contract is theirs. We make sure the network in the shop is ready for them, configure the sales software, and route receipts and stock movements into the right systems. No van pulls up outside, but somebody from our side is on a call on opening day.

Yes, under the 24/7 IT support service or a Premium agreement. The busiest trading hours tend to fall exactly where ordinary support stops, which is also where an outage costs most. Your agreement can carry reinforced cover on dates you pick out yourself, typically the November promotion weekend and the last shopping days before Christmas.

Yes, if the redirect table is written before anything moves, the addresses that attract visitors survive unchanged, and the tags are checked one at a time. The replacement shop grows in parallel, products, customers and order history are carried across, and positions get watched closely for several weeks afterwards. Example: a sports equipment retailer switched on a Tuesday in February, a long way from any sale period.

Put your sales channels on one set of figures

Name the platform behind the shop, the marketplaces you list on, whether a physical counter is involved, and what somebody still copies by hand. An answer follows within one working day.
