Small businesses

Where a business employs somewhere between five and twenty people, the computers end up belonging to whoever copes best with them. The founder. The office manager. Occasionally a cousin who gets telephoned on Sunday evenings. That works right up to the first dead drive, or the first administrator password that nobody can produce. We take the role on for a predictable amount each month and handle everything over the network. You know where to write, how fast an answer arrives, and precisely what the fee covers.

The part we carry for you

A remit sized for an accountancy practice, a notary office, a physiotherapy clinic or a small trading firm. Places, in other words, where nobody was hired to look after computers and everybody ends up doing it anyway.

Tell us how you work

The laptops people actually use

Purchase wherever you like, from the reseller you have always used. Preparation happens through Intune: the account, the trade applications, an encrypted drive. Your colleague opens the lid at home or at a desk and the full working environment is waiting at the first sign-in.

Microsoft 365 rather than memory sticks

Mail carrying your own domain name instead of a personal address, calendars everyone can see, Teams, and documents living in SharePoint. We also watch the licence count, so the mailbox of a colleague who moved on last spring stops appearing on your invoice.

Bookkeeping and electronic invoices

Access to your finance package gets tidied, whether that is Sage, Cegid or Pennylane, and we prepare the engineering side of the French move to electronic invoicing: who holds which permission, what Factur-X the software actually produces, and what happens during the fortnight your bookkeeper is away.

Protection proportionate to the risk

A second factor on every sign-in, a supervised antivirus, one shared vault holding the passwords, and a GDPR processing record kept in language a human can read. Enough to stand up to scrutiny, without a binder of procedures destined never to be opened.

Somewhere to write that answers

Working days between 8:00 and 18:00 CET, through the form, by mail or on a video call. Start commits us to a reply inside four hours, and in the quiet stretches we are watching patch levels and reading the restore reports that nobody else opens.

Signs that Start has been outgrown

The number of desks tells you very little on its own. The question that settles it is what sixty idle minutes cost the business on an ordinary Tuesday.

A server The trade application demands its own machine Which then needs patching, watching and copying
Evenings Your counter or workshop is busy after six The round-the-clock option starts to pay for itself
Four hours hurts Sixty minutes offline is sixty minutes unsold Business shortens the wait to a single hour
Beyond ten More than ten people now hold accounts Business at EUR 1,490 a month before VAT fits better

The threat to a small firm is rarely the absent server. It is the absent copy. Quotations sit on one laptop, signed contracts live inside a single mailbox, and the only current price list is buried among downloads. Plenty of owners assume the cloud provider keeps everything indefinitely; in reality a deleted item eventually goes past recovery. Backing Microsoft 365 up independently costs a fraction of what it protects.

Questions and answers

Because goodwill has no deadline attached to it, and because that person is usually the only one holding the administrator credentials. An agreement fixes a reply time, covers the weeks when somebody is away, and produces written records that are yours to keep. If they want to stay involved, we are happy to leave them a slice of the work and to put the division of duties in writing.

Because in a small office nearly every fault turns out to be an account, a licence, a mailbox, a missing update or a misbehaving application, and all of those are reached through an encrypted session, frequently in under ten minutes. Where something genuinely has to be touched, a lead reseated or a router power-cycled, we walk one of your colleagues through it, or the installer you usually ring.

They are both, which is exactly why they get dropped. Your accountant decides what to bill. Somebody still has to set permissions correctly, confirm that the software emits usable Factur-X, keep the connection to the chosen platform alive, and stop the whole arrangement depending on one private login. That half is ours, and we agree it with your practice. Invoices addressed to a public body go through Chorus Pro.

That is what a working month looks like. Monitoring, patching and restore checks carry on regardless of how many requests you raise, which is largely why the requests stay rare. Should several quiet months go by, we will raise the subject ourselves and suggest moving to the hourly rate of EUR 95 before VAT rather than leave you on a plan you barely touch.

A short video call, followed by a survey carried out over the network. Out of it comes a written inventory of machines, logins and applications, a list of the gaps we found, and a quotation for ongoing care. Scope and timings then move into the agreement, rather than depending on who happens to be free that week.

Let us price the care your business needs

Tell us how many of you there are and which tools the work depends on. A price comes back with a precise list of what we would do.
