WordPress websites

A large share of French company websites run on WordPress, and for good reasons: your staff already recognise the editor, plenty of agencies can work on it, and the code belongs to you. Trouble arrives when a site is assembled from a heavy page builder plus twenty-five plugins, half of which have not been touched in two years. We go the other way. Few moving parts, each one defensible, so the site is still quick and safe three years on rather than only on handover day.

Where this service reaches

Every WordPress build here rests on the same frame, whether it runs to five pages or two hundred: sound technical groundwork, tools the person who publishes can actually use, the links that matter, and a proper handover.

Put your scope to an engineer

A block theme of your own

We write your blocks inside the editor that ships with WordPress. Whoever looks after communications builds a page like a set of bricks, swaps a headline, a photo or the order of sections, and never breaks the layout on a phone.

Plugin discipline

Each plugin argues for its place: a form, search visibility, backups, caching, and little else. Fewer plugins means fewer holes, fewer clashes on update day and pages that paint faster.

WooCommerce where selling matters

A basket wired to Stripe or PayPlug, card payments, Colissimo or Mondial Relay delivery, discount codes and invoices raised without anyone typing. We switch WooCommerce on only when selling is part of the brief, because otherwise it simply weighs the database down.

Accessibility baked into the theme

Contrast, keyboard navigation, headings in order, alternative text demanded whenever an image is uploaded. RGAA 4.1 and WCAG 2.1 AA set the floor, which spares you a rebuild the day the European Accessibility Act reaches your activity.

Language versions

Polylang or WPML, with sound hreflang tags, a separate address per language and a menu that keeps the two versions apart. The switcher lands on the matching page instead of dumping everyone on the home page.

Handover

Administrator credentials, paid licences and the hosting account stand in your company name. Your editors get a live walkthrough over video and a short PDF they can return to half a year later.

The way an engagement runs

A presentation site goes together far quicker than a WooCommerce shop tied into your invoicing software. In both cases the clock is eaten by content and by sorting out existing data, hardly ever by the programming.

01

Framing

One video session on your goals and the tools you run today. Where a site already exists, we look at its plugins, its audience and whatever deserves to survive.

02

Structure and wireframes

Page structure and sketches of the main templates, signed off before any code is written. At this point a change costs minutes.

03

Build on a staging copy

Theme, blocks, forms and links go up on a copy you can open at any hour, so progress is visible day by day.

04

Going live

Switch to production, permanent redirects from the old addresses, live trials of forms and payments, and training for the editors.

The WordPress core is seldom the way in for an attacker. The opening is nearly always an abandoned plugin or a nulled theme pulled off a forum to dodge a licence worth a few dozen euros. Hence the short list of components still maintained by their authors, and a rule written down on day one: who applies updates, how often, and who checks afterwards that the site still works.

Questions and answers

That is the whole point of the approach. Copy, photographs, articles and fresh pages are added by your own people using the blocks we deliver. A genuinely new feature needs a developer, though not necessarily us: the code follows WordPress conventions and any competent agency can pick it up.

Builders get you moving quickly, but every page carries a load of surplus code and the content ends up locked inside one vendor format. For a small site meant to last a year or two, that trade is defensible. For a company site expected to run for five, a block theme of your own is cheaper to keep alive.

The software itself is free. What remains is hosting, the domain, yearly licences for paid plugins and the time spent on updates. We price those lines for your specific case before you decide. Our own work is billed at EUR 95/hour excl. VAT, or folded into a Start, Business or Premium plan.

With a provider whose servers sit in France or elsewhere in the European Union, OVHcloud and Scaleway among them, with backups and a TLS certificate. If you already have a provider you trust, we stay there. If not, we suggest a plan sized to your real traffic rather than headroom you will never touch.
